Web Series | Mortal Kombat Legacy

Hot off the heels of the recent Mortal Kombat Video Game Reboot, which brought the game back to it’s “Humble” beginnings, comes a new Web Series from Warner Bros., Nether Realm Studios, and distributed via YouTube by Machinima. Director Kevin Tancharoen has brought the failed film franchise back to life with a more realistic, and gritty interpretation of the action saga.

Wikipedia actually has a pretty detailed description of the creation of the series starting with Tancharoen’s self financed Mortal Kombat Rebirth (Below), his meetings with MK creator Ed Boon, and the eventual filming of the series.

Reviews have been mixed, but I love it. It’s without a doubt the best produced web series I’ve seen, and the action sequences are shot really well. New episodes debut on Monday nights, and there are already talks of a season 2.

Check it out!

8 Count Boxing Fight Night Intro

Here’s a “Hype” video I edited for 8 Count Productions, who put on the boxing events @ UIC Pavilion. It debuted last night before the main event. I’ll more than likely be adding more to the fonts, and adding new knock outs as they happen.

Trailer | The Playboy Club

NBC just released the trailer for their new series The Playboy Club. A show about the Playboy Club Chicago in 1960. The creators of Mad Men are bringing their game to Prime time TV, and it looks pretty good. It’s filmed in that dark dramatic style much like Mad Men, but extra sexy.

A portion of the show was shot here in Chicago in front of the Original Playboy Club on 116 E. Walton St. Hopefully this show doesn’t suffer the same fate as The Chicago Code.

Take a Look……

Music Video | Taylor Mallory – Sunni’s Outside

Here’s the premier video for Chicago R&B Artist Taylor Mallory. Filmed by my former Columbia College Chicago classmate Cam Be. It’s also stars my home girl Tina Powell!

“They’re coming to get you Barbara!” | Zombie Prom 2011

I had a blast last night filming with Jen Chicago for the Zombie Prom @ Vision Night Club. Saw some great costumes, and captured some great party footage of Jen and the Undead. Check out here website for all kinds of fun videos of events and activities around Chicago.

News | NBC 5 Sportscaster Daryl Hawks Found Dead

My condolences go out to the family and friends of NBC 5 sportscaster, Daryl Hawks, who was found dead in his Atlanta hotel room while on assignment covering the Bulls game. It’s a loss for the TV and Sports community here in Chicago.

I didn’t personally know Daryl, but friends say he had a passion for his job and had fun doing it. Which is seen in the video below with his fellow anchors @ NBC 5.

Rest in Peace Daryl.

Down Down Down The Heat Going Down

Shout out to the Bulls for easily taking out the ATL Hawks tonight. I’ve been waiting for this match up for a year! I want them to win this series even more than I want a Championship. Here’s to The Bulls in 7, and all the drama that comes with it.
